Purple Ribbon High Tea & Trivia Afternoon

SLANSW hosted a high tea & trivia fun afternoon to raise funds for the Lisa Harnum Foundation on Sunday the 25th of September. Two hundred or so purple clad guests were treated to a fun afternoon with plenty of delicacies, fun trivia & great prizes. All proceeds of the night will go towards the work of LHF which centres around supporting victims of domestic abuse.

“Helping Hands” Community Services Project at Loaves & Fishes Restaurant

Members of SLA together with some of the committee prepared and served food at the Loaves and Fishes Restaurant on the 23rd of September under the “Helping Hands” community service project of SLANSW . The night organized by the Exodus Foundation saw many homeless people coming through the doors. SLA members and committee extended compassion to everyone showing that they care by treating all to a sumptuous meal prepared by them.

 

Aged Care Information Morning

An Information session was organised by SLANSW together with Uniting Care to provide information on various aged care options that are provided by Uniting Care. Many member & non member seniors attended the event which was held in the Uniting Care  hall  in Hornsby. Click for photos

at Fox Valley community Centre in Wahroonga.

Taking part in the Sharing Of The Meal Programme

Under the SLANSW community services project a team of committee members and youth visited Redfern on Friday the 5th of August 2016 to participate in the Sharing Of The Meal Program at St Vincent De Paul, Redfern.

 

SLANSW assisted in feeding of disadvantaged and homeless people in the local community by providing a home cooked Sri Lankan meal . Click for photos
